Is the random selection truly random?

Yes — this tool uses crypto.getRandomValues(), the Web Crypto API’s cryptographically secure random number generator. This is the same randomness source used for encryption and security tokens, providing much better randomness than Math.random(). Each name has an equal probability of being selected (unless weights are applied).

Can I use this for giveaways and raffles?

Absolutely. The tool uses cryptographically secure randomness, maintains a timestamped pick history for transparency, and supports weighted entries for raffle-style draws where some participants have more tickets. You can also use the exclude list to prevent previous winners from being picked again in multi-round draws.

How does weighted picking work?

Add a multiplier after any name using ‘x’ followed by a number. For example, ‘Alice x3’ gives Alice three times the chance of being picked compared to a name with no multiplier (which defaults to x1). This is equivalent to entering Alice three times but more convenient. Weights work with all pick modes including team generation.

No — all name picking, team generation, and bracket creation happen entirely in your browser. No names or results are transmitted to any server. Pick history is stored in memory only and disappears when you close or refresh the page.
