How are business days calculated?
Business days (also called working days) are calculated by counting all days between two dates and excluding weekend days. By default, Saturday and Sunday are excluded. You can also exclude public holidays by selecting a regional holiday preset. The calculator counts the end date but not the start date — so Monday to Friday of the same week equals 4 business days.

Which holidays are included in the regional presets?
US Federal holidays include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. UK Bank Holidays include New Year's, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Early May, Spring and Summer Bank Holidays, Christmas, and Boxing Day. Australian holidays include New Year's, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Monday, ANZAC Day, Queen's Birthday, Christmas, and Boxing Day.

Can I change which days count as weekends?
Yes. The default weekend is Saturday and Sunday, but you can configure any combination of days as weekend days. This is useful for regions where the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday (common in Middle Eastern countries) or for custom work schedules. Simply check or uncheck the weekend day checkboxes to match your needs.

What is the difference between calendar days and business days?
Calendar days count every single day between two dates, including weekends and holidays. Business days (working days) exclude weekends and optionally exclude public holidays. For example, a two-week span has 14 calendar days but only 10 business days (assuming standard Mon–Fri work week with no holidays). Business day counting is essential for project deadlines, legal timeframes, shipping estimates, and payroll calculations.
