Product Review Generator

Product Review Generator

Generate realistic placeholder product reviews for design mockups, UI testing, and development. Configure product category, rating distribution, review length, and reviewer personality types. Get formatted reviews with star ratings, reviewer names, dates, verified purchase badges, and helpful vote counts — exportable as plain text, JSON, CSV, HTML, or Markdown.

How to Use

Optionally enter a product name and select a category for category-specific vocabulary. Choose a rating distribution (mostly positive, mixed, mostly negative, all 5 stars, or specific rating). Set review length and count (up to 50 reviews). Toggle reviewer names, dates, and verified purchase badges. Click Generate to create a batch of realistic reviews with varied writing styles and personalities.

Features

  • 10 Product Categories — Electronics, Home & Kitchen, Books, Clothing, Food & Beverage, Health & Beauty, Sports, Toys & Games, Software/App, General. Each category has specific vocabulary, common complaints, and praise patterns.
  • Rating Distribution Control — Generate mostly positive (4-5★), mixed (1-5★), mostly negative (1-2★), all perfect (5★), or a specific star rating. Rating affects review tone, vocabulary, and title selection.
  • 5 Reviewer Personalities — Enthusiastic (exclamation marks, superlatives), Technical (specs, comparisons), Brief (short and direct), Storyteller (personal anecdotes), Complainer (focuses on negatives). Each personality produces distinctly different writing styles.
  • Realistic Formatting — Star ratings (★★★★☆), reviewer names from diverse name pools, random dates within 2 years, verified purchase badges (70-90% random), helpful vote counts, and review titles matching sentiment.
  • Multiple Export Formats — Copy all reviews as plain text, structured JSON (array of review objects), CSV (spreadsheet-ready), HTML (styled review cards), or Markdown.
  • Summary Statistics — Average rating, rating distribution bar chart, total word count, and average review length calculated from the generated batch.
  • Template-Based Generation — Uses 50+ sentence templates per sentiment with category-specific vocabulary. No AI or API calls — all generation is combinatorial and runs instantly in your browser.

Use Cases

Ideal for UI/UX designers creating e-commerce mockups, developers testing review display components, QA engineers stress-testing review rendering, content teams needing placeholder reviews, A/B testing different review layouts, and anyone building product pages who needs realistic review data without using real customer content.

Are these reviews generated by AI?

No — these reviews are generated using template-based combinatorial algorithms, not AI. The tool uses 50+ sentence templates per sentiment level, category-specific vocabulary pools, and 5 distinct reviewer personality types to create varied, realistic-sounding reviews. All generation happens instantly in your browser using JavaScript string manipulation and randomization. No API calls are made.

Can I use these reviews on a live product page?

These reviews are intended for testing, design mockups, and development purposes only. They should not be used as fake reviews on live e-commerce sites, as this would be misleading to consumers and may violate consumer protection laws and platform terms of service. Use them for wireframes, prototypes, demo environments, and development/staging sites.

How realistic are the generated reviews?

The reviews are designed to mimic real review patterns: varied sentence structures, category-appropriate vocabulary, realistic rating distributions, and different reviewer personality types (enthusiastic, technical, brief, storyteller, complainer). They include common elements like verified purchase badges, helpful vote counts, and review titles. While they won’t fool a close reader, they’re realistic enough for visual design mockups and UI testing.

Is my data sent to a server?

No — all review generation happens entirely in your browser. No product names, categories, or generated reviews are transmitted to any server. The tool uses pre-built template arrays and client-side randomization.
