Questions
Are the tools really free?
Yes. Almost every tool works without an account, and most run entirely in your browser, so your input never reaches our servers — ads pay for the ones that don't. The five AI tools are the exception: they need a free account, because each run bills us for a third-party model call.
Is "Remove ads" a subscription?
No. It's a single payment and it never renews. Ads stay off your account for good, on every device you sign in on.
What are credits?
Credits meter everything that runs on our servers: the AI tools and file converters on the site, and every tool call over the API or MCP. Browser-side tools, which is the vast majority, cost nothing and are never metered when you use them on the site. Signed-in accounts get a monthly allowance that resets on the 1st; signed-out visitors get a smaller daily one.
What are credit packs?
A one-time top-up, on top of your monthly allowance. They never expire and are drawn only once your monthly credits run out, so they're there when you have a heavy month rather than resetting unused. Buy any size, any time, from the Billing card on your account page.
Do I need a paid plan for the API or MCP server?
No. Any free account can create an API key and connect the MCP server. Every tool call costs credits, so your monthly allowance is also your call quota — Builder buys a much bigger allowance, a higher per-minute rate limit, and a lower cost per call.
Why is a tool free in my browser but costs credits over the API?
A person clicking a formatter is what the site is for. A script calling it eighty thousand times a day is capacity we pay for. So browser use of the free tools stays unlimited and programmatic access is metered.
Do some tools have a different API limit?
Yes. A handful of tools — the AI writer, image generator, YouTube transcripts and a few others — have a separate, smaller monthly limit on free-plan API/MCP access, on top of your regular credit allowance. A credit pack or Builder removes that limit entirely. Every other tool in the catalog is unaffected either way.
Do I need a paid plan to build my own tool?
Yes. Build Your Own Tool is a Builder feature — it writes and saves real code for your account on every build, so it isn't something a free account can spend credits on. Searching the catalog to check whether a tool already exists stays free for everyone. Once you're on Builder, each build or edit costs credits from your monthly allowance.
How do I manage or cancel?
Everything lives in the Billing card on your account page, which opens the Stripe customer portal for invoices, cards and cancellation.
