Use this responsibly. This tool only surfaces a transcript the course platform has already published on a lesson page you can open — it doesn't verify what it says, and we take no responsibility for its accuracy or for what you do with it. The lesson and its transcript still belong to whoever made the course; using the output is your call to make against copyright law and the platform's own Terms of Service, the same as if you'd taken notes from the video by hand. It is meant for personal study, not for redistributing course material.
What this tool does
Paste a link to one video lesson, get its transcript back as text. This reads the transcript the course platform already ships with the lesson page — the same one behind the player's captions — and turns it into readable prose, timestamped lines, or a downloadable SRT/WebVTT file. No extension, no audio processed.
Supported platforms
Currently DeepLearning.AI lesson pages, English transcript only. More platforms are added one at a time. A link from anywhere else is rejected before the tool runs, so it never costs a credit.
One lesson per run
A course is made of modules, and a module of many lessons. This tool takes one lesson link and returns that lesson's transcript. Paste the link of the specific video you want, not the course overview page. To get every lesson link of a course in one go, use the Course Playlist Extractor.
What it can't read
- Quizzes, labs, notebooks and reading pages — they have no video, so there is no transcript. You'll get a message naming the lesson type.
- Locked lessons — anything the platform only shows to an enrolled or paid account. This tool reads the page as a signed-out visitor and never uses your course login.
Choosing an output format
- Readable paragraphs — the default. Caption fragments get stitched into real sentences and grouped into paragraphs.
- Plain text — one continuous block, no line breaks.
- Timestamped lines — every line prefixed with
[12:34], for finding the exact moment something was said. - SRT and WebVTT — real subtitle files with start/end timecodes.
- JSON — every cue with its start time and duration, for scripts.
