The Frequency Converter turns a single frequency measurement into its equivalent across nine units at once. Enter one value, choose the unit it is expressed in, and the tool instantly builds a table showing the same frequency in hertz, kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz, terahertz, rotations per minute (RPM), beats per minute (BPM), radians per second (rad/s), and degrees per second (°/s).

Frequency describes how often something repeats per unit of time, and different fields describe that repetition differently. Electronics and physics work in hertz (Hz), where one hertz is one cycle per second — the unit behind Wi-Fi channels, CPU clock speeds, and audio pitch. Mechanical engineering favors rotations per minute (RPM) for spinning shafts and motors, medicine uses beats per minute (BPM) for heart rate, and rotational physics often works in angular units like radians per second or degrees per second. This converter bridges all of them without hunting for factors.

Why do RPM and BPM show the same number?

RPM and BPM look like they should mean different things — one counts rotations, the other counts heartbeats — but numerically they are the exact same unit: both describe "one cycle per 60 seconds." A shaft spinning at 3,000 RPM and a heart beating at 3,000 BPM both work out to 50 Hz. The tool always shows identical values in the RPM and BPM rows for this reason; it is not a bug, just a reflection of the fact that "per minute" is per minute regardless of what is being counted. Both rows are kept separately so the tool is easy to find whether you searched for RPM or BPM.

How do I convert Hz to RPM?

Multiply hertz by 60 to get RPM, since there are 60 seconds in a minute and RPM counts cycles per minute instead of per second. For example, 50 Hz is 3,000 RPM. This tool applies that factor automatically and shows every other unit in the same table.

What is the difference between radians per second and Hz?

One full rotation is 2π radians, so 1 Hz (one full cycle per second) equals 2π ≈ 6.2832 radians per second. Radians per second is the natural unit for angular velocity in physics and engineering equations (like ω = 2πf), while hertz is the more familiar everyday unit for describing repetition rate.

How does degrees per second relate to Hz?

One full rotation is 360 degrees, so 1 Hz equals 360 degrees per second. This is the angular equivalent of hertz expressed in degrees instead of radians, useful when working with compass headings, camera pan speeds, or rotational animations measured in degrees.
