Halve PDF Pages cuts each page of a PDF in half, turning one page into two — right in your browser. It's built for scanned double-page book spreads (two pages photographed or scanned side by side into one wide image), but works on any PDF you want split. No signup, and your file never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Upload a PDF file.
- Choose a split direction: Left / right (for side-by-side spreads) or Top / bottom.
- If splitting left/right, optionally turn on Right-to-left order for books read right-to-left (manga, Arabic, Hebrew) so the pages come out in the correct reading order.
- Optionally enter a page range to only split specific pages — leave it blank to split every page.
- Press Halve pages. The new file, with each targeted page split into two, downloads automatically.
Why does this matter?
Books are often scanned two pages at a time, producing a single wide image per spread instead of one page per side. That's fine for reading on a wide screen, but awkward for printing, page-by-page annotation, or feeding into an OCR/text-extraction tool that expects one page of text per PDF page. Splitting each spread back into its two original pages fixes that.
What's the difference between this and other "halve PDF pages" tools?
Most just cut every page down the middle with no way to say which direction, which pages, or what order the results come out in. This one lets you pick left/right vs. top/bottom, reverse the output order for right-to-left books, and target only the pages that actually need splitting — front matter or already-single pages can be left alone.
Will this affect the PDF's content or pages?
Only the pages you target are split — each becomes two half-sized pages containing exactly what was on that half of the original, with nothing scaled, cropped incorrectly, or lost. Untargeted pages pass through completely unchanged.
