Never run out of pizza

Guessing the order for a party usually ends in either hungry guests or a fridge full of cold slices. This planner turns your guest list into a pizza count.

How this tool works

  1. Enter the number of adults and kids.
  2. Pick an appetite — light (2 slices per adult), average (3), or hungry (4). Kids eat about 60% of an adult portion.
  3. Choose how many slices each pizza has, the share of vegetarian guests, and a safety buffer.
  4. The Order Plan table shows how many pizzas to order, how many should be vegetarian, and how many slices are left over.

The math

  • Slices needed = (adults × slices per adult) + (kids × slices per adult × 0.6)
  • With buffer = slices needed × (1 + buffer %), rounded up
  • Pizzas = slices with buffer ÷ slices per pizza, rounded up
  • Vegetarian pizzas = pizzas × vegetarian share, at least one when anyone is vegetarian

Common uses

  • Birthday parties, office lunches, and team events
  • Sports-night and movie-night orders
  • Comparing a "slightly too many" vs "just enough" order by changing the buffer
