Shopping across borders means guessing at sizes: a shoe labelled 10 in the US, 9.5 in the UK, and 43 in the EU is the same shoe. This converter takes the size you already know and shows you every regional equivalent side by side, so you can order from an international store with confidence.
How to use it
- Choose a category — men's, women's or kids' shoes; men's or women's tops; men's or women's pants; or women's bra band and cup sizes.
- Pick the sizing system you already know your size in: US, UK, EU, JP/CM, CN, or letter sizing (XS–5XL).
- Enter your size — whole numbers, half sizes (
9.5), and letters (M,DD) all work.
The results update instantly, listing the equivalent in each system alongside the underlying body measurements (chest, waist, bust or underbust, in both inches and centimetres) where the chart provides them.
What the numbers are based on
The conversions use ISO and industry-standard reference charts:
- Shoes — JP/CM values are the foot length in centimetres, and CN (Mondopoint) sizing closely tracks EU for adults. Half sizes are supported throughout.
- Tops — US men's sizing is based on neck circumference in inches, while UK sizing uses the chest measurement. Letter sizes (S, M, L…) map onto a range of numeric sizes.
- Pants — men's trousers are labelled by waist measurement (inches in the US, centimetres in the EU). Women's pants use arbitrary numeric sizes, so the tool also shows the approximate body waist for each.
- Bras — band size is the ribcage measurement directly under the bust; cup size is the difference between the bust and band measurements in inches.
Why does my brand fit differently?
Sizing is standardised only loosely. Two brands can label the same physical garment a size apart, and "vanity sizing" shifts women's clothing numbers over time. Treat the conversion as a reliable starting point, then check the brand's own size guide and, where possible, its measurements in centimetres — a body measurement never lies the way a label can.
US vs UK bra cups
Cup lettering diverges above D. A US DD equals a UK DD, but a US DDD is a UK E, and the two systems continue to drift apart from there. The converter maps these exactly so you don't end up a full cup off.
