Higher bitrate = sharper picture, bigger file. The video is re-encoded in real time, so conversion takes as long as the clip.

MP4 video

Upload a video video, pick a quality and press Add subtitles. Everything runs in your browser — the file is never uploaded.

What Add Subtitles to Video does

Permanently burns captions into a video so they show in any player, on any social platform. Upload your SRT or WebVTT file (or paste the text), choose a caption size and the subtitles are drawn over the picture at the right moments. The video never leaves your device.

How to use it

  1. Upload a video.
  2. Upload an .srt / .vtt file, or paste the subtitle text.
  3. Pick a caption size and a video quality, click Add subtitles, preview the result and download it.

Good to know

Captions are white with a dark outline, centered near the bottom, and long lines wrap automatically. Basic tags such as <i> are stripped. The audio is kept. Your browser plays and re-records the video, so it takes as long as the clip — keep the tab open. If the browser can't record MP4, it saves WebM and says so.

Privacy

Playback, caption drawing and encoding all happen on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
