How to use it

What is lorem ipsum, exactly?
It is a scrambled extract of Cicero's De finibus bonorum et malorum (45 BC), used by typesetters since the 1500s and by every design tool since. Because the words are unfamiliar, the eye reads the shape of the text — line length, rhythm, colour on the page — instead of the content. That is precisely what you want when you are judging a layout.
Why not just type "test test test"?
Repeated words produce an unnaturally even texture and hide real layout problems: widows, orphans, awkward line breaks, columns that are too wide to read. Lorem ipsum has a word-length distribution close to English, so a paragraph of it fills space the way real copy will.
What does the HTML format give me?
The same text, wrapped in paragraph tags — <p>Lorem ipsum dolor...</p> — one per paragraph, ready to paste into a template, a CMS field or a component story without hand-adding markup.
How long is a generated paragraph?
Each paragraph contains 3–7 sentences, and each sentence 5–15 words, drawn at random from the classic Latin word list. That mirrors natural prose variation, so no two paragraphs come out the same length.
Can I generate a lot of text at once?
Yes — up to 200 units in one run. At 200 paragraphs that is a very long document, which is exactly what you want when stress-testing a page template or a scrolling component.
Is there an alternative to Latin filler?
