PDF to Secure PDF locks down what people can do with a PDF — printing, copying text, editing and annotating — and protects those restrictions with an owner password and AES-256 encryption. It all happens in your browser: no upload, no signup, no watermark.

How to use it

  1. Drop or browse for a PDF file.
  2. Choose an owner password (you'll need it to lift the restrictions later).
  3. Switch on the actions you still want to allow — everything else is blocked.
  4. Optionally add an open password so the file can't be viewed without it.
  5. Press Secure PDF and download secure.pdf.

How is this different from Protect PDF?

Protect PDF is about who can open the file. This tool is about what they can do once it's open: by default anyone can read the PDF, but printing, copying and editing are switched off.

Are the restrictions unbreakable?

Permission flags are honoured by compliant readers (Acrobat, Preview, browsers), but they're a request, not a lock — a determined person with specialised software can sometimes ignore them. If the content must stay confidential, also set an open password: that one is real encryption.

Can I remove the restrictions later?

Yes. Use Unlock PDF with the owner password.

Your file is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.
