What this generator does

It draws a random team from the complete Pokédex — all nine generations, 1,191 entries including Mega, regional and alternate forms — and you can steer the draw with filters. Want six random Gen 1 Fire types? A team of nothing but glass cannons with 100+ Attack and 100+ Speed? A single random Pokémon to start a Nuzlocke? Set the filters, hit Generate team, and you get a fresh roll every click.

Each pick comes with its Pokédex number, generation, type (or dual type) and all six base stats — HP, Attack, Defence, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defence and Speed — so you can actually judge the team you have been dealt.

How to use it

  1. Set Pokémon per team (1–20).
  2. Optionally narrow the pool: generation, type, and a band for any of the six base stats.
  3. Click Generate team. Click it again for a completely new roll.
  4. Copy or download the list of names.

Every filter is combined with AND, so "Generation 2" + "Water" + "Speed 101–150" means all three must be true. The type filter matches either of a dual-type Pokémon's types — a Grass/Poison Bulbasaur shows up under both Grass and Poison. If a combination is too tight to have any members at all, the tool tells you instead of quietly returning an empty team.

What can I use it for?

  • Nuzlocke and randomiser runs — draw the team the game will not let you choose.
  • Drafting and casual leagues — a neutral, unbiased pick.
  • Teaching the type chart — roll a team and work out what it is weak to.
  • Beating decision paralysis — 1,000+ Pokémon is too many to choose from; six is not.

How random is it?

Genuinely random. The tool shuffles the whole filtered pool and takes the first N, so every eligible Pokémon has an equal chance and no Pokémon appears twice in the same team. Rarity, stat totals and legendary status carry no weight — a Magikarp is exactly as likely as a Mewtwo, unless you filter one of them out.

Are alternate forms included?

Yes, and they are labelled. Mega Charizard X, Alolan Raichu, the Deoxys formes and both Nidoran are separate entries with their own stat lines, shown as Charizard (Mega Charizard X) so you can tell which one you drew.

Does this need an internet connection?

Only to load the page. The entire Pokédex ships with the tool, so the draw happens in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, nothing is logged, and no external Pokémon API is called. That also means it is instant and it keeps working offline.

Why are there no pictures?

This version shows each Pokémon's name, types and full base-stat line as text rather than a sprite. It makes the tool fast and keeps the whole Pokédex available offline. The stats are the part you actually need to draft around.
