What does this tool generate?
Realistic-looking placeholder product reviews — a title, star rating, body text, reviewer name, date, "Verified Purchase" badge, and helpful-vote count — for mockups, UI development, A/B testing, or sample datasets. These are randomly generated and not real reviews. They should never be posted as genuine reviews on any platform.
How this tool works
- Optionally enter a Product Name — it's woven into the review text (e.g. "The Wireless Earbuds arrived quickly"). Leave it blank for generic wording.
- Pick a Product Category — this selects a vocabulary of category-appropriate aspects and adjectives (electronics reviews mention "battery life" and "Bluetooth"; clothing reviews mention "fit" and "stitching"; and so on).
- Choose a Rating Distribution: mostly positive, mixed, mostly negative, all 5-star, or a specific star rating for every review.
- Choose a Review Length and how many reviews to generate (1–50).
- Toggle whether to include reviewer names, dates, and the "Verified Purchase" badge.
- Pick an Output Format and click Generate Reviews.
How the text is assembled
Each review's rating is picked from a weighted distribution (e.g. "Mostly Positive" mostly rolls 4–5 stars but occasionally a 3, matching how real review sets skew). Body text is built from a pool of sentence templates that matches the rating's tone (positive, negative, or neutral), with category-specific aspects and adjectives filled in — then run through one of five randomly-assigned "personalities" (enthusiastic, technical, brief, storyteller, balanced) that adjust punctuation and phrasing so reviews don't all read identically.
Output formats
- Plain Text / Cards — a readable block per review (reviewer, star rating, title, body, date, badges, helpful count)
- JSON — an array of review objects, ready to seed a mock API or test fixture
- CSV — one row per review, for spreadsheets or bulk import
- Markdown — formatted for docs, wikis, or chat
The Summary Statistics and Rating Distribution tables show the average rating, total review/word counts, and a star-by-star breakdown of the generated batch.
