Guides

A CPS test (clicks-per-second test) measures how fast you can click your mouse. Pick a duration, click as fast as you can inside the pad, and the tool reports your total clicks and your average clicks per second. It's the quick, no-install way to benchmark your click speed — for Minecraft PvP, competitive gaming, or just settling an argument about who's fastest.

How to use it

  1. Choose a duration — 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds. Shorter tests reward a raw burst of speed; longer ones test how well you can keep the pace up.
  2. Start clicking. The timer starts on your very first click, so there's no countdown to react to — the first click already counts.
  3. Watch the live stats. Time remaining, your running click total, and your current CPS update in real time while you click.
  4. Read your result. When the timer hits zero the pad locks and you get your final score: total clicks, test length, and average CPS. Every attempt is logged in the session results table, and your best CPS is remembered between visits.

You can also mash the spacebar instead of clicking — handy for testing keyboard-tap speed or if a mouse button is worn out.

What counts as a good CPS?

Click speed varies a lot by technique and hardware, but as a rough guide:

  • 3–6 CPS — normal, comfortable clicking. Most people land here.
  • 6–8 CPS — fast; you're clicking deliberately and quickly.
  • 8–12 CPS — very fast, usually the result of a dedicated clicking technique.
  • 12+ CPS — elite territory, typically only reachable with jitter or butterfly clicking.

Because the test divides clicks by the full duration, a 5-second test tends to show a higher CPS than a 60-second one — it's easier to sprint than to keep sprinting.

Clicking techniques

  • Regular clicking — one finger, one button. Sustainable and accurate, tops out around 6–8 CPS.
  • Jitter clicking — tensing your arm and hand to create a rapid vibration that fires the mouse button many times per second. It can reach 10–14 CPS but is tiring and can strain your wrist.
  • Butterfly clicking — alternating two fingers on the same mouse button so each downstroke registers. Many gaming mice read this as very high CPS; some games ban it as a form of autoclicking.
  • Drag clicking — dragging a finger across a textured mouse button to register a burst of clicks at once. It produces huge spikes but is inconsistent.

Use these at your own risk — jitter and butterfly clicking in particular can cause hand fatigue, and some competitive servers prohibit them.

Is my score saved anywhere?

Everything runs in your browser. Your best CPS is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device, and the per-session results table is cleared when you reload. Nothing is uploaded.
