Guides

Give a photo that sun-bleached, pulled-from-a-shoebox look — the Vintage Photo tool layers a warm color tint, a faded contrast curve, and a dark-edged vignette over your image, with independent sliders for each so you can go anywhere from a light nostalgic touch to a heavily aged, washed-out print.

How it works

Upload an image, then adjust four sliders:

  • Vintage Effect — how strongly the vintage color tint is applied, from a light touch (0%) to the full classic tint (100%).
  • Contrast — pulls shadows and highlights further apart (positive) or flattens them (negative).
  • Faded Look — mutes the color saturation and lifts the black point slightly, the washed-out look typical of an old, sun-exposed print. Higher values fade more.
  • Vignette — darkens the corners and edges of the photo. Higher values darken more, and spread further toward the center.

The result renders instantly as you adjust the sliders. You can download the result as an SVG file, or copy its source markup directly.

Tips

  • Start with the default Vintage Effect (100%) and Vignette (40%) for a classic look, then back off Vignette if your photo already has dark corners.
  • A small amount of positive Contrast (+10 to +20) keeps a faded photo from looking flat or hazy.
  • Push Faded Look past 50% for a heavily sun-bleached, almost pastel look — pair it with a strong Vignette for an "old family album" feel.
  • The downloaded SVG stays crisp at any size since it's a vector wrapper around your original image — resizing it doesn't lose quality the way a rasterized export would.
