Guides

Convert an EPUB ebook into a Kindle MOBI file. The conversion runs in your browser, so the book is never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop an .epub file onto the upload box.
  2. Press Convert to MOBI.
  3. Download book.mobi.

What is carried over

  • The book's title, author, publisher, description and language.
  • All chapters in reading order, with a page break between them.
  • JPEG, PNG and GIF images and the cover.

Limits

  • DRM-protected books can't be read. Only DRM-free files convert.
  • The output is a classic MOBI 6 file, which has no CSS: fonts, colours and custom layouts are replaced by the reader's own styling. Headings, bold, italics, lists, tables and images are kept.
  • WebP and SVG images are left out, as MOBI can't display them.
  • Links between chapters are dropped; links to web addresses are kept.
  • Recent Kindle devices and apps may prefer EPUB (via Send to Kindle) over MOBI. Use this for older Kindles and apps that still open .mobi.

Frequently asked questions

Is my book uploaded anywhere? No. Everything happens on your device.

Why is there no table of contents screen? MOBI 6 locates chapters by byte offset, which this converter doesn't generate. Chapters are separated by page breaks instead.
