PSD to AI
Convert an Adobe Photoshop PSD file to an Adobe Illustrator AI file. Upload a .psd, pick an artboard size and background color, and download an .ai file that opens in Illustrator — entirely in your browser, no upload to a server required.
Input
A .psd (or .psb) file with its layers flattened, saved with "Maximize Compatibility" on. Processed locally in your browser — the file is never uploaded.
An AI artboard exported this way has no transparency — any transparent areas in the PSD are filled with this color.
Higher quality preserves more detail but produces a larger file.
“Fit to image” makes the artboard exactly the size of the PSD's canvas.

Need a Photoshop design inside Adobe Illustrator? This tool reads a .psd file's flattened composite — the image exactly as Photoshop shows it with every layer merged — and wraps it in an Illustrator-compatible .ai file you can open straight away.
How to use it
- Upload a
.psd(or.psb) file. - Pick a quality and, if the design has transparent areas, a background color.
- Optionally open Artboard options to choose an artboard size (fit-to-image, A4 or US Letter), orientation and margin.
- Click Convert to AI and download the file.
What you get
Illustrator's .ai format is PDF-based, and Illustrator opens a PDF-structured .ai file by placing the page on an artboard. The result is your PSD's flattened picture on an artboard, ready for you to add vector shapes, type and paths around it. It is not an automatic vector trace — the artwork stays a bitmap. To turn it into vectors, use Illustrator's Image Trace on the placed image, or try PSD to SVG.
Is this private?
Yes. The PSD is decoded and the AI file is built entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and the tool is free.
Why is my output blank or missing layers?
Only the PSD's saved composite is read, not individual layers. Files saved without "Maximize Compatibility" may not include it. CMYK, Lab and Multichannel files aren't supported — convert to RGB in Photoshop first (Image → Mode → RGB Color).
Want a different format?
See PSD to PNG (keeps transparency), PSD to JPG or PSD to PDF.
