What this does

Fills in a standards-compliant electronic invoice — XRechnung 3.0, the German CIUS of the European EN 16931 standard, serialised as UBL 2.1 XML. This is the format German public bodies and Peppol access points accept. Everything is computed in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Enter the invoice number, issue date, currency and the buyer reference (Leitweg-ID or order number — XRechnung requires one).
  2. Fill in the seller (with VAT ID, contact phone/email and IBAN) and the buyer.
  3. Add line items as description, quantity, unit price (net amounts), one per line, and set the VAT rate.
  4. Copy or download xrechnung.xml.

How the totals work

Each line amount is rounded to cents, the lines are summed to the net total, VAT is calculated once on that net total and added to give the payable amount — the arithmetic EN 16931 validators check. A VAT rate of 0 is written as tax category Z (zero-rated), anything above as S (standard).

Before you send it

This tool produces a single-rate, EUR-style domestic invoice with SEPA credit-transfer payment. Run the file through your recipient's portal or the official KoSIT validator before sending — requirements such as exemption reasons, multiple VAT rates or reverse charge are not covered. It is not a PDF/A-3 ZUGFeRD file; it is the stand-alone XML that XRechnung recipients ingest.
