GIF to MP4

Convert an animated GIF into an MP4 (or WebM) video — everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded to a server.

How to use it

1. Upload an animated GIF.
2. Click Convert to video. The GIF is decoded frame by frame and re-played onto an in-browser canvas at its original speed, while your browser records the result in real time.
3. Preview the result and download it as MP4 (or WebM where your browser records that format instead — the actual extension is whatever your browser negotiated).

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The GIF is decoded and composited onto an in-browser canvas, and the video is recorded directly from that canvas with your browser's own MediaRecorder — nothing you upload ever leaves your device.

Why does it take a few seconds to convert?

The browser records the canvas as it plays back, so the video is captured in real time rather than rendered instantly — the total conversion time is roughly the GIF's own playback length (however long it takes to loop through once). Don't close the tab while it's converting.

What if my GIF has a lot of frames?

GIFs with more than 500 frames are trimmed to the first 500 to keep conversion time reasonable — a note appears above the upload if this happens.
