Guides

Turn a video clip into an animated WebP right in your browser — upload a video, trim the part you want, pick a frame rate and width, then download. Animated WebP keeps full color and is usually much smaller than the same clip as a GIF. No account, no upload to a server, and no watermark.

How to use it

  1. Drop or choose an MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV or Ogg video.
  2. Drag the trim range handles to pick the portion of the clip to convert.
  3. Adjust the frame rate (higher looks smoother, but makes a bigger file) and output width (height scales automatically).
  4. Toggle Loop forever on or off.
  5. Press Convert to WebP, then Download the result.

Private by default

The video is decoded frame by frame on a <canvas> in your browser, and the WebP is built there too — the file is never uploaded anywhere.

Why does it fail in my browser?

Your browser has to be able to encode WebP images. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can; Safari cannot, so use Video to GIF there.
