Convert an MP4 video to WebM — choose the quality, preview the result and download. Runs entirely in your browser; the video is never uploaded.
Input
Higher bitrate = sharper picture, bigger file. The video is re-encoded in real time, so conversion takes as long as the clip.

What MP4 to WebM does
Convert an MP4 video into WebM (VP9/VP8 with Opus audio), the open format that web pages, Discord, Slack and many CMSs favour for small, fast-loading clips. The conversion runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Upload an MP4 file.
- Pick a video quality (bitrate).
- Click Convert to WebM, preview the result, then download it.
Good to know
Your browser plays the video and re-records it, so conversion takes about as long as the clip itself — keep the tab open. Safari cannot record WebM and will save an MP4 instead, saying so. Re-encoding is lossy; raise the quality for detailed footage.
Privacy
Playback and encoding happen on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
