Give a photo a bold, single-color tint — the Colorize Image tool strips the original colors to grayscale, then washes it in a color of your choosing, so you can turn any photo into a duotone-style graphic in seconds.
How it works
Upload an image, then set two options:
- Colorize Color — the color the photo is tinted toward. Pick it from the swatch or type a hex value directly.
- Colorize Intensity — how strongly the color is applied, from a light wash (near 1%) to a fully saturated tint (100%). Past 30% intensity, a second, lighter color pass kicks in automatically to keep the tint building smoothly all the way to full strength.
The result renders instantly as you adjust the color or slider. You can download the result as an SVG file, or copy its source markup directly.
Tips
- Intensity around 40–60% keeps some of the photo's original tonal detail visible under the tint; higher values push toward a flatter, more graphic look.
- Saturated, mid-brightness colors (blues, teals, warm oranges) tend to read best as a colorize tint — very pale or very dark colors have less visible effect since the screen blend is naturally gentle at the extremes.
- The downloaded SVG stays crisp at any size since it's a vector wrapper around your original image — resizing it doesn't lose quality the way a rasterized export would.
