MKV to AVI
Convert a MKV video to AVI — choose the quality and size, then download. Runs entirely in your browser; the video is never uploaded.
Input
The AVI stores every frame as a JPEG (25 fps), so files are larger than MP4. The video is converted in real time, so it takes as long as the clip.
AVI video
Upload a MKV video and press Convert to AVI. Everything runs in your browser — the file is never uploaded.

What MKV to AVI does
Turn a Matroska MKV video into an AVI file for older players, editors and hardware that still expect the format. The conversion runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Upload a MKV file.
- Pick the picture quality and maximum size.
- Click Convert to AVI, then download the result.
Good to know
Your browser plays the video and each frame is saved as a JPEG inside the AVI (Motion-JPEG, 25 fps, PCM audio), so conversion takes about as long as the clip — keep the tab open. Motion-JPEG files are larger than MP4; choose a smaller size or quality to shrink them. Browsers cannot play AVI, so check the result in a desktop player such as VLC. If your browser can play the MKV, it can convert it.
