One file · video/*

Higher bitrate = sharper picture, bigger file. The video is re-encoded in real time, so conversion takes as long as the clip.

What Mute Video does

Strip the sound from a video and get a silent copy — handy for removing background noise, copyrighted music or private conversations before you share a clip. It runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Upload a video (MP4, MOV, WebM and most other formats your browser can play).
  2. Pick a video quality — lower means a smaller file.
  3. Click Remove audio, preview the silent video, then download it.

Good to know

Your browser plays the video and re-records only the picture, so it takes about as long as the clip itself — keep the tab open. The result is re-encoded, so it is a lossy copy. If the browser can't record MP4, it saves WebM instead and says so.

Privacy

Playback and encoding happen on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
