The Voltage Converter turns a single voltage measurement into its equivalent across 10 units at once. Enter one value, choose the unit it is expressed in, and the tool instantly builds a table showing the same voltage in volts, millivolts, microvolts, kilovolts, megavolts, and more.
Voltage spans an enormous range in practice — from the microvolts and millivolts of sensor signals and audio lines, through the volts of batteries and logic circuits, up to the kilovolts and megavolts of power transmission lines. Because the units differ by factors of a thousand or a million, converting between them by hand is easy to get wrong. This tool handles every conversion in one step.

How many millivolts are in a volt?
One volt equals exactly 1,000 millivolts, 1,000,000 microvolts, and 1,000,000,000 nanovolts. Each metric prefix step (milli, micro, nano, pico) divides by another factor of 1,000, while kilo, mega, and giga multiply by 1,000 each.
What is a statvolt?
A statvolt is the unit of electric potential in the Gaussian and electrostatic (CGS-ESU) systems still used in some physics texts. One statvolt equals approximately 299.792458 volts — the number matches the speed of light in the relevant CGS definition. This tool applies that exact factor automatically.
What is an abvolt?
An abvolt is the unit of potential in the electromagnetic (CGS-EMU) system. It is a tiny unit — one abvolt equals 0.00000001 volts (10 nanovolts) — so it mostly appears in older electromagnetic literature rather than everyday electronics. Enter a value in abvolts to see its equivalent in volts and every other unit at once.
Why do the megavolt and gigavolt columns show 0?
When you convert a small voltage (like 1 volt) into a much larger unit, the equivalent value is a tiny fraction that rounds to 0 at the chosen precision. Increase the Decimal precision, or convert from the larger unit instead, to see the exact figure.
