What Cut Audio does
Upload an audio file, drag the range handles to the section you want to keep, and this tool trims it down to exactly that range. Everything happens in your browser — the file is decoded, cut, and re-encoded locally, and is never uploaded anywhere.
How to use it
- Upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC, and most other common formats your browser can play).
- Use the player to preview it, then drag the range slider's handles to set the start and end points.
- Click Cut audio. Preview the trimmed result, then download it.
Output format
The trimmed clip always downloads as a WAV file, whatever format you uploaded. WAV stores audio uncompressed, so it needs no codec to write back out — re-encoding to a compressed format like MP3 would need a dedicated encoder this tool doesn't include. A WAV file plays natively in every browser, media player and editor, and re-compressing it afterward (with any audio converter) is lossless-in, lossy-out — no worse than converting the original would have been.
Privacy
The entire cut happens on your device using your browser's built-in audio decoder — your file is never sent to a server.
