Contrast is what separates a flat, washed-out photo from one that pops — the Change Contrast tool pushes shadows and highlights apart (or pulls them together) with a single slider, so you can punch up a dull image or soften one that's too harsh.
How it works
Upload an image, then adjust one slider:
- Contrast — ranges from -100 (flattens the image toward a uniform gray) through 0 (no change) to +100 (maximum separation between light and dark areas). The default of +25 gives a modest boost that suits most photos.
The result renders instantly as you move the slider. You can download the result as an SVG file, or copy its source markup directly.
Tips
- Small adjustments go a long way — even ±10 to ±20 makes a visible difference on most photos.
- Pushing contrast very high (toward +100) can clip fine detail in shadows and highlights to pure black or white; if you need punch without losing detail, try a smaller positive value.
- Negative contrast is useful for flattening an image before applying other effects, since it compresses the tonal range without shifting color.
- The downloaded SVG stays crisp at any size since it's a vector wrapper around your original image — resizing it doesn't lose quality the way a rasterized export would.
