What MP4 to WAV does
Pull the soundtrack out of an MP4 video and save it as an uncompressed WAV file — ready for a DAW, sampler, transcription tool or video editor. The conversion happens in your browser, so your video is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Upload an MP4 file.
- Optionally mix down to mono to halve the file size.
- Click Convert to WAV, preview the result, then download it.
Good to know
WAV is uncompressed, so the file will be much larger than the MP4's audio track, and converting from a lossy codec can't restore detail that was already discarded. The file is decoded by your browser's built-in decoder, so if your browser can play it, it can convert it. Very long videos use a lot of memory; DRM-protected files can't be decoded.
Privacy
Decoding and WAV encoding both run on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
