What MP4 to MP3 does
MP4 is the most common video container, and often all you want from it is the soundtrack — a song, a lecture, a podcast recorded as video. Upload your MP4, pick an MP3 bitrate, and download just the audio as a standard MP3. The conversion happens in your browser — your file is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Upload an MP4 file.
- Choose a bitrate (128–192 kbps suits most music, 64–96 kbps is fine for speech) and optionally mix down to mono.
- Click Convert to MP3, preview the result, then download it.
Good to know
The audio track is decoded by your browser's built-in decoder, so if your browser can play the video's sound, it can convert it. Long videos are decoded fully in memory, so very large files may be slow on low-memory devices. DRM-protected videos can't be decoded.
Privacy
Decoding and MP3 encoding both run on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
