Guides
Watermark PDF stamps a text watermark — like CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, or your company name — onto every page of a PDF, right in your browser. Set the text, position, size, rotation, opacity and color, then download the stamped file. No signup, no watermark on the watermark tool itself, and nothing ever leaves your device.
How to use it
- Upload a PDF file.
- Type the watermark text (defaults to
CONFIDENTIAL). - Choose a position — Center, one of the four corners, or Tiled to repeat the text in a grid across the whole page.
- Adjust font size, rotation and opacity with the sliders, and pick a color.
- Press Watermark PDF. The stamped file downloads automatically as
watermarked.pdf.
Why watermark a PDF in the browser?
Most online watermarking tools upload your document to a server first. This one does the whole job locally using the pdf-lib library, so contracts, drafts, scans and anything else private stay on your computer. There's no upload or download round-trip, so it's also near-instant.
What does "Tiled" do?
Instead of one watermark, Tiled repeats the text in a staggered grid across the entire page — useful for discouraging screenshots or unauthorized copying of a full page, not just a corner.
Can I control how faint the watermark is?
Yes — the Opacity slider runs from 5% (barely visible, good for a subtle background mark) to 100% (fully solid). Lower opacity is typical for watermarks that shouldn't obscure the underlying text.
Will this work on a password-protected PDF?
A PDF with an owner lock but no open password usually watermarks fine. A file that requires a password just to open must be unlocked first — use the Unlock PDF tool, then watermark the result.
Your file is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.
